In the private consultation room, you will first discuss the outcomes and expectations from the treatment and you can ask any questions that you have.
Before commencing your treatment, our medical team will perform a Body Scan to establish your body shaping needs, recommending the correct treatments and ensuring you track your results precisely
PREPARATION
You will remove your clothing from the area you wish to have treated and lie/ sit down on the consulting chair.
The first step is to measure the depth of your skin and fat, in the area you wish to remove fat. To do this we use what is called a caliper (you may have had this done at the gym). This reading is important as this is entered into the CoolTech machine to control the treatment.
From there, the clinician will apply a cooling gel on a cloth membrane that protects the skin that is being treated (cooled).
TREATMENT
The CoolTech paddle is positioned on the treatment area, sitting on the cooling gel and membrane. The paddle will slowly increase in suction, moving the fat up into the paddle to be treated. At this stage, the paddle will stay in place by itself, with its own suction.
From here, your clinician will monitor the readings on the CoolTech screen for pressure and temperature. The temperature will slowly reduce until it is at the target temperature of -8 degrees Celsius (takes a couple of minutes) and your fat begins to freeze!
Your treatment will take between 60 and 70 minutes, during which time you can relax or read a book.
POST TREATMENT
Once the CoolTech system has counted down and we have achieved the best clinical outcome for you, the paddle will be released by your clinician. Your skin will be red from the suction and cold but this quickly subsides.
Your clinician will massage the treatment area to break up and separate the frozen fat and get the best clinical outcome possible. The frozen fat cells will die and your body will remove them in the normal way it removes any waste from the body.
The only other thing to do is to have the cooling gel wiped off, put your clothes back on and your treatment is finished, you can go back home or back to work.
Results will vary from person to person, you can expect to see some reduction in the days after your treatment, but the full results may take up to 2-3 months to see*.
Unlike liposuction there is no sedation, there are no cuts or incisions. You will be able to drive yourself to and from the clinic and resume your normal routine immediately.
No, the first thing you will feel is cold as our clinician applies a cooling gel. Then you will feel a tight suction as the paddle is applied to the area being treated. After about two minutes your skin will go numb with the cold and you should be quite comfortable for the remainder of the treatment. Once the treatment is over, you will feel a little bit of discomfort as the treatment area is massaged by the clinician.
A small number of people could develop some pain or discomfort 1-2 weeks after treatment. This is usually a mild pain that can be reduced with over the counter pain killers like Panadol or Nurofen.
